I liked that one, too! It was a truly unique style of story telling for this genre.

There was a similar one I read where the story is told backwards because the main character suffers from short-term memory loss. It was fascinating~ I can lend that one to you next if you like!

[They should be almost to the store now....]

[As soon as they get there, Heizou spreads his arms out as he gestures toward it, as though presenting it in a sort of "ta-dah!" motion. It's a very ordinary looking store, and from outside it doesn't even look to be all that big.]

And here we are! It doesn't look like much, but it has a fine selection for every genre.

I'll be the judge of that. Where's the mystery novels?

[Heizou practically beams. He's so pleased.]

Oh? Have I won you over with the mystery genre~?

[SO PLEASED. So he will happily start leading Wanderer toward his favorite part of the store. Now that they're inside Wanderer may notice that the store is just a bit bigger on the inside, and the shelves go from the floor to the ceiling.]

It's right over here!

They're not predictable or as melodramatic as romance, and they're not as stupid as Inazuman light novels. The last one I saw involved someone getting hit by a mine cart, dying, and being sent to some bizarre otherworld where they were basically a god with a harem.

[Heizou smirks a little, amused.]

Well, light novels are light for a reason. They're purely entertainment for the masses. Clearly you're a real man after my own heart~

[He glances over at Wanderer just to give him a little wink as he keeps winding through the rows of books.]

If that's what entertains the masses, no wonder Teyvat's a disaster.

[He ignores!! That wink!! As he takes to the sky for a bit to get to the taller shelves.]

[His smirk grows a little bit, just to himself while he starts to peruse the books closer to his level.]

Well, there's no accounting for taste when it comes to the mass population. See anything interesting up there?

Something involving necromancy?

Oh? That could be interesting, don't you think?

[He pulls that one off the shelf.]

I'll give it to you when I'm done. I found it, after all.

[That makes him let out a loud, heavy sigh.]

Fiiiine. But I'm only borrowing it if it's good. And don't lie to me!

Whatever.

[They end up spending quite a bit in the bookstore, and Wanderer at least ends up with several new mystery novels to try, a book of faerie tales, and another book he refuses to let Heizou see and has the clerk wrap in plain brown paper before he shoves it in his bag.]

Not bad.

[Why would you do that, Wanderer. Dont you know that hiding it from him just makes him more curious?]

Did you have fun~? Think you'll be enjoying yourself with that mystery book~?

He shrugs.]

It'll be a decent way to kill time at night.

And that last book you got? Are you embarrassed to show it to me~?

No. It's just not something you need to know about.

[But Waaaandaaaaaa...]

No? [Heizou leans a little closer, head tilting while he studies him.] And why might that be?

[Making sure his bag is closed--]

Because it isn't for you.

Oh~? A gift~?

[You can't trick Heizou, Wanderer. A sly little smile spreads across his face.]

Well. If it's coming from you, I'm sure he'll appreciate it very much~

I didn't say it was a gift. Do you always assume things?

[He chuckles softly, straightening with a little snap of his fingers.]
