[They end up spending quite a bit in the bookstore, and Wanderer at least ends up with several new mystery novels to try, a book of faerie tales, and another book he refuses to let Heizou see and has the clerk wrap in plain brown paper before he shoves it in his bag.]

Not bad.

[Why would you do that, Wanderer. Dont you know that hiding it from him just makes him more curious?]

Did you have fun~? Think you'll be enjoying yourself with that mystery book~?

He shrugs.]

It'll be a decent way to kill time at night.

And that last book you got? Are you embarrassed to show it to me~?

No? [Heizou leans a little closer, head tilting while he studies him.] And why might that be?

[You can't trick Heizou, Wanderer. A sly little smile spreads across his face.]

Well. If it's coming from you, I'm sure he'll appreciate it very much~

I didn't say it was a gift. Do you always assume things?

[It is totally a gift.]

[He chuckles softly, straightening with a little snap of his fingers.]

It's part of what I do, my dear wandering friend! I'm happy to share my deductive reasoning with you if you wanna hear it~

Go ahead. I'd love to hear the delusions.

[His eyes go bright. You asked for this, Wanderer!]

It's pretty simple, actually~ You already said that it isn't something I need to know about, because it "isn't for me." That implies that it's not for you, either. But you're
hiding it all the same, keeping such a tight hold on your bag, which can only mean that you're embarrassed about the recipient. And in your case, only one person really fits that bill, you know! Obviously you don't even want to admit that it's a gift... Maybe you're telling yourself that you're just paying him back for all the flowers he sent you? I imagine his gifts and affections must confuse you, right?

[Wanderer huffs and looks away, and dear archons Heizou better not see that tiny faint little blush--]

I don't know who or what you're talking about.

[Too bad, Wanderer. Heizou sees it, and it makes him smirk widely.]

You know, your stubbornness just makes you cuter~

Cute?! Why do you people keep calling me cute?!

[book2thehead]

[He laughs loudly.] Because it's true!

Now then, are you thirsty? We can grab some coffee on the way back to your place~

Tea's better, but if there's a place on the way back we can stop.

[How true to their Inazuman roots. Heizou just smiles as he starts leading the way toward a cafe that has some good teas, swinging his own bag of books as he walks.]

The more bitter the better, yes?

[The tiniest, tiniest of smiles.]

[He sees that smile! Heizou is counting that as a win for him.

He talks Wanderer's ear off about the new books he's picked up until they get there. At which point he orders for both of them; it's easy to guess what Wanderer will like, after all. And of course he makes sure Wanderer knows that this is all still Heizou's treat.]

Don't even think about repaying for any of this. If you try, I'll just keep taking you out~

[He rolls his eyes.]

I understood that the first six times you said it. You're paying me back for finding your Vision.

[He spreads his hands with a shrug.]

Hey, you're stubborn. I have to make sure the message sinks in properly.
