I can't speak for Heizou so I'll leave that one be. As for me though?

Loneliness can be a scary thing. I care about you because I feel as though that loneliness isn't as loud when we're together. I'd like to think we give each other a little bit of companionship when we are.

I care about you because I feel as though you deserve to have someone to care. Or more than one, of course.

And I care about you because I pick to. It makes me happy to.

[There's a long pause between replies.]

And you mean that. Don't you?

[concierto]

Of course I do.

[And it's one of the rare times that he's not lying.]

[He should respond, he thinks. He just isn't sure how. He thinks he cares for Venti and Heizou? He puts up with so much from them, and they're two of the few people who are decent to him. They're...nice to be around, and they don't annoy him too much. Usually, anyway, and not like other people do.

And they're cute. He didn't think he cared about that, but he apparently does.

After nearly an hour, he finally settles on:]

I don't let just anyone do what you do.

[He thought for a moment that their little conversation might be over. But when he sees the little message written back later... It makes his heart feel warm.

He fondly remembers the time they sat together on the beach while Wanderer read and Venti gently sang. Those moments. He still cherishes them.]

I'll consider myself very lucky, ehe.
