Character: Wanderer aka Scaramouche
Canon: Genshin Impact, post 3.3 "All Senses Clear, All Existence Void"
Age: ~500 years old

Background Information: Here and Here. Two links, as he is slightly complicated and has two entries on the wiki.

Personality:

Bitter: Very little has ever gone right for Wanderer, and he is perhaps understandably bitter about this. His creator/mother abandoned him because he had emotions, his first human friend was killed (and for centuries he thought Niwa had also lied about the type of person he was, which didn't help), and then his last one died to illness. And then he was experimented on and largely kept in the Abyss for the next few centuries.

Desperate for Connection: Though he'd never admit it, Wanderer is truly eager for someone, anyone, to want him and stay with him. He was incredibly protective over his first follower when he was in the process of becoming a god, and while not stated it's a bit obvious that he's in his own way attached to Nahida as one of the first people to be kind(ish) to him in five hundred years

Caustic: He does not hesitate to speak his mind, and tends to do so in a very sarcastic tone. He'll call people idiots to their faces or otherwise insult very powerful people with an air of "I dare you to do anything" about him. A lot of people don't like him because of this. He does seem to mellow out some after being reborn as Wanderer, but all the same.

Emotional: Despite his caustic tone and tendency towards insults and a stated dislike of most people, Wanderer is in fact extremely emotional and he hates it. Part of the reason he was so eager to become an artificial god was to purge himself of his emotions, and upon finding out that he'd been lied to all of the pain he'd experienced was planned, his reaction was to try and erase himself from Teyvat.

Conflicted: Thanks to the whole "erase himself from Teyvat" thing, we do get to see a gentler, kinder side to Wanderer before he regains what he can of his memories and becomes snippy and cold again. And yet, he is still less of an asshole than he was as Scaramouche and is even before he erases himself from history, being willing to work with Nahida and the Traveler as he was. This part of his personality isn't explored quite as in depth as the rest of him, as his life as Wanderer is extremely new.

Abilities & Inventory: His hat, his Anemo Vision, Tulaytullah's Remembrance (a bell he can use as a weapon), and the small doll he makes in the "Tiny Doll" character story. As for his powers: here they are. A quick summary:

Yuuban Meigen: He attacks the enemy with up to three wind blades.

Hanega: Song of the Wind: He uses anemo to leap up into the air and hover, allowing him to attack and move in the air until he is unable to maintain it and returns to the ground. In canon there doesn't seem to be a limit outside of his stamina, but here I'd keep it to probably no higher than five or six feet off the ground?

Kyougen: Five Ceremonial Plays: Again using anemo, he basically makes a small vacuum and then explodes it, causing enemies to take damage from the wind. He can do this while hovering, but he'll land right after.

Otherwise, he doesn't have very many other abilities or talents. Even as Scaramouche, we never see him actually do anything that isn't "piss people off".

Suitability & Plans: Wanderer is an RPer's dream in that he has no idea who is now or what he should be. While he isn't the naive newborn of five hundred years ago, he no longer has a true past or history and no one knows him aside from the Traveler, Nahida, and Paimon. This means he can, with time, be influenced by good people (or at least people who aren't going to experiment on him in the Abyss) and become his own person. He doesn't even really have a name! I'm apping him to Songerien because I want to explore this, and I feel the smaller, more intimate setting will do him some good. He's cranky and doesn't like to talk to people if he can help it, but with relatively fewer people around it's a lot harder to avoid everyone and be a bitchy recluse.

I'm also excited to give him a chance to develop his powers and learn what he can do when he isn't desperate for the Electro Gnosis (the thing that gives archons their powers, and what he was originally meant to hold while the Electro Archon retreated from the world).
